Meet Our Leadership

Magic Valley Pediatric Cancer Coalition was founded to further assist families in Southern Idaho whose lives were turned upside down with an unfathomable diagnosis. When a local family’s infant daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, the support provided by their immediate circle extended well out to the community.

MVPCC’s desire is to continue to take small circles and invite the community in to meet the needs of pediatric cancer families. MVPCC is committed to bringing childhood cancer awareness and support to as many people as possible. By working to alleviate the stressors that come with a childhood cancer, MVPCC meets needs that arise from diagnosis, through treatment and into remission.

We currently assist families in Blaine, Camas, Cassia, Jerome, Gooding, Lincoln, Minidoka and Twin Falls Counties. If you or someone you love is outside those counties, please still reach out to us and we will help you find resources in your area to give you support.

Our Board

Matt Lancaster
President
With a kind heart and savvy mind for finances, Matt Lancaster is the leader of the MVPCC board of directors. He is well respected within the Magic Valley for the way he makes people feel seen and supported. Matt’s goal is for each member of the family with a child diagnosed with pediatric cancer to know they are supported by the incredible community the MVPCC has created.
Shannon Banfield
Vice President
Shannon is the mom of an incredible survivor of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Knowing firsthand how incredible the support of a cancer non-profit can be during a terrifying situation, Shannon was quick to get involved with the MVPCC.
Lacey Lancaster
Treasurer
As a mom who’s endured the loss of a child, Lacey is an incredibly passionate and empathetic addition to the MVPCC board. Lacey leans into to the emotional side of things with the families who come to the MVPCC for support and is active in helping families determine what their immediate needs are.
Brandon Cary

Jordan Gentry
Board Member
Jordan is proud to be a part of the MVPCC board. When a close friend of his walked through his daughter having cancer, he saw first hand the financial and emotional toll that a pediatric cancer diagnosis gives the family. Jordan meets whatever needs he can on the MVPCC board, but truly enjoys the fundraising side.
Jeremy Black
Board Member
Jeremy became interested in helping with the pediatric cancer cause after attending an event with LG’s Army. He was introduced to MVPCC by Matt and Lacey Lancaster and joined the board soon after. Directly seeing how a family’s life is changed with help from MVPCC is something that makes him proud to be a part of this organization. Jeremy works to reach more families, allowing MVPCC to offer more support, and is always looking for ways to make a difference.
J.J. Shawver
Board Member
J.J. joined the MVPCC board to help in any way to ease the pain for families dealing with cancer. Although J.J. has never dealt with childhood cancer directly, his father passed away from cancer back in 2008. He knows how hard it was as a young adult, having cancer take his best friend and can only imagine how much harder it must be for parents dealing with their child being affected by this horrible disease. Cancer is a difficult battle for anyone to fight, and J.J. wants to help make it just a little bit easier for those going through it. J.J. is proud to be a part of MVPCC.
